Twisted Cryptids production is nearing completion and we’re readying our team and partners to begin processing and fulfilling your orders! This Kickstarter Update serves as a warning that you have LESS THAN 48 HOURS UNTIL WE LOCKDOWN ADDRESSES 🚨 Now is the time to double-check your address to make sure it's still correct in BackerKit, because addresses will officially lock on February 12 at 12PM EST.
Keep in mind that we will be fulfilling your pledges in two waves for this Kickstarter:
Wave 1: Pledge Tiers Only — During the first wave, we will only ship out the pledge tiers—this includes the $29 Kickstarter Exclusive Edition Game, $39 Exclusive Edition Game + Expansion, $139 Deluxe Bundle, and the $199 Ultimate Collector’s Set only.
Wave 1 should begin shipping in March, and should be wrapped up by May - June as long as everything goes according to plan.
Wave 2: Everything Else — During the second wave, we will be shipping out all add-ons, including the Yeti or Not Expansion, Here to Slay: Banner Quest (and play mats), and returning KSE products! Essentially, if you didn’t get it in the first shipment, it will be arriving during Wave 2.
Wave 2 will begin shipping around May, and should be finished by July - August.

At this time 2,274 backers have not completed their surveys! If you don’t fill out the survey, we won’t know where to ship your pledge! If you submit your survey after addresses are locked down, your order will likely get delayed until after the promised shipping time window. When Will Addresses Be Locked Down?
Addresses will lock down on Wednesday, February 12, at 12PM (noon) EST.
Addresses will officially lock in less than two days on Feb 12. If you run into any issues updating your address in BackerKit, email [email protected]
How can I submit/view/edit my shipping information?
Between now and February 12, at 12PM EST you can access your Twisted Cryptids BackerKit Survey and verify or update your shipping address to ensure your pledge arrives at the correct location!
If you haven’t completed your BackerKit Survey, fret not – you still can! Surveys are how we collect your shipping info, after all, so we can’t send you your pledge until you complete this step ❤️
There are a few ways to find your BackerKit Survey:
Check your email inbox! You should be able to find it by searching “BackerKit” or “Twisted Cryptids”. In the email, there will be a link that will take you to your survey.
We also recommend checking your Spam folder, as sometimes these emails end up there

Can I still edit my pledge?
No. Since the BackerKit store closed last year, you can no longer modify your pledge, only edit your shipping information.
Can I still submit my survey after the address lockdown?
You can! However, it is likely that your pledge will ship after our fulfillment partners have finished their first pass at shipping that wave of orders.
Will there be a second lockdown between Wave 1 and Wave 2?
No - this address lockdown is for the entirety of the campaign! If you end up moving between Wave 1 and Wave 2, email [email protected] and our team will adjust your address for you. Please note that changing your address may cause your pledge to ship after our fulfillment partners have made their first pass at shipping that wave of orders.
Where can I watch the How-to-Play video and Twitch Streams?
Will there be a Yeti or Not Expansion Twitch Stream?
Yes! We’re planning on sharing close ups of the Yeti or Not Expansion in the coming months before we begin fulfilling Wave 2. Keep an eye out for more information in future updates!
When will we receive the Print-n-Play Cryptids Social Stretch Goal?
We’re working on those Cryptids now and plan on delivering them in a future Update as Wave 1 of fulfillment is ongoing.

I hope the new year has been treating you all well! Production for Twisted Cryptids has been underway, and fulfillment locations around the world are preparing to receive Wave 1 to begin the first phase of fulfillment ✈️🌎
In order to make the process as smooth as possible, we will be locking down addresses on February 12, 2025 at 12PM EST!

We tried out this system in an effort to improve our fulfillment efficiency and to get Twisted Cryptids into your hands as quickly as possible. Hi everyone :)
It has been a month since we closed the BackerKit store, and with the year's end approaching – I’d like to celebrate the successes of Twisted Cryptids with a Kickstarter Wrapped report:
Seeing our projects reach so many people across the globe is an indescribable feeling. Thank you for believing in us and the games we create 💖 At this time, we’re still on track to begin wave 1 of fulfillment this Spring as planned – I’ll be sharing monthly Kickstarter Updates to keep you in the loop about our progress and any bumps in the road (hopefully none).
Now that we have the final counts for add-ons, the team has been working diligently to review and finalize samples, and production is set to start next week! In the meantime, I’m delighted to share with you official photos of some of the products that will be making their way to you in 2025!

As of today, 91% of backers have completed their BackerKit Surveys. If you are part of the 9% who has not yet filled yours out, we cannot ship anything to you until you fill it out! We need to know where to mail your order, after all 😊 To submit (or make adjustments to) your survey, visit the Twisted Cryptids BackerKit Page and use the same email as the one attached to your Kickstarter account. If you’re having trouble locating your Survey, follow the guide we shared in our last Kickstarter Update. If you are still running into issues, or have any questions, email [email protected] so our support team can help you out!
Note: The Add-on store closed on November 20, so you are no longer able to shop for add-ons or modify your pledge. You can, however, still enter or update your shipping information at this point.
And just as a heads up – in the next month or so I’ll be posting warnings about the upcoming address lockdown! We lock addresses as inventory makes its way to our fulfillment partners so that they can get your orders out the door as efficiently as possible. More information to follow!

Hi everyone,
This is your reminder that THE BACKERKIT ADD-ON STORE CLOSES @ 12PM EST TOMORROW! Once it closes, cards will be charged, and our team will be gathering counts to begin the next phase – production. Only 81% of surveys have been completed so far, so please do not wait any longer if you are in the 19% that has not yet finished yours!
(If you’re getting add-ons and the shipping cost is high – check out last week’s Update for a discounted option that may save you some $)
If you can’t find your Survey, I’d recommend checking your Spam folder first. If it’s not there, you can look up your Survey on the BackerKit site!
Type in “Twisted Cryptids” and click the black “Find project” button!
Underneath the search, you'll see a section titled "View Projects" with Twisted Cryptids listed! Click "Go to Project" and you'll be taken to this screen:
Enter the email you used to back Twisted Cryptids with on Kickstarter and a link to your Survey will be sent to your inbox!

After surveys close November 20 (i.e.tomorrow), you will no longer be able to modify your pledge or select any add-ons. You will, however, still be able to enter or change your address.
I wanted to add in a PSA about card sleeves here. Approximately 2,000 backers have completed surveys with a quantity of card sleeves that does not match their tier + add-ons. Here are the rules of thumb you need to know!
If you backed Tier 1 (base game only) and did not pick any expansions as add-ons, you need to select 3 packs of card sleeves
If you backed Tier 2 (base game + cryptid culture) and did not add any additional expansions, you need to select 4 packs of card sleeves
If you backed Tier 2 (base game + cryptid culture) and also added the Yeti or Not expansion, you need to select 5 packs of card sleeves
If you backed Tier 3 or 4 (deluxe bundle or ultimate collector’s set) and did not add any additional expansions, you do not need to add any card sleeves because your tier already has enough to cover everything
If you backed Tier 3 or 4 (deluxe bundle or ultimate collector’s set) and also added the Yeti or Not expansion, you need to select 1 pack of card sleeves just to cover the additional expansion because your tier has enough to cover everything else
I hope that clarifies any confusion- and if you already submitted your survey but are unsure if you picked the right number of sleeve packs, you can log in and double check that you picked the right number- when the BackerKit add-on store closes tomorrow, you won’t be able to make any additional changes!
We also updated a small error on our end that led to taxes on shipping charges showing up for US backers. Don’t worry, though- this has been corrected systematically, so even if you’ve already completed your survey, you’ll be charged the correct amount. You can still go in and double-check if you’d like to be sure, and if you have any questions about it, please reach out to us.
While filling out your BackerKit Surveys, many of you (~75%) have picked up Add-ons with your Pledge! If you’re on the fence about what to get, or just like data, here are the top products backers have been adding to their orders:
5. The Big Twisted Box
This extra large Twisted Cryptids box comes with an oversized Central Play Mat large enough to fit all the cards in the center of the table, the Rest Area for Human tokens, The Wilderness board, and Cryptid meeples for scoring.
It also comes with a few extra card dividers to keep everything nicely organized.
The tray inside the box is large enough to fit all of the components, including sleeved cards, in Twisted Cryptids: Exclusive Edition (including Ness is More and all Mini Expansions), Cryptid Culture: Exclusive Edition, Yeti or Not: Exclusive Edition, and it has a little bit of extra space for any extra boards (from the Wilderness Craft Kit or Nostalgic Wilderness Board).
The box is ALSO large enough to fit all play mats and standees in the Play Mat Bundle Box 🤯
4. Twisted Cryptids Human Meeple Set
The Human Meeple Set was highly requested and pretty well received! In this set you’ll find 36 custom wooden meeples– 12 corresponding to each Human flavor. It also comes with a bonus set of stickers to decorate your Cryptid, Unicorn, Vehicle, and UFO meeples.
3. Here to Slay: Banner Quest Expansion
During the campaign, we announced the newest installment in the Here to Slay series. This epic new Here to Slay Expansion introduces new effects and mechanics, and a new way to win the game! Claim Banners by strategically building your Party… but remain ever vigilant, because another player might seize a Banner from your grasp at any moment!
Adding it to your pledge gets you early access to the fun! Don’t forget to pick up enough Here to Slay: Banner Quest Play Mats for you and your gaming group. ⚔️
2. Twisted Cryptids Card Sleeves
To no surprise, many of you are picking up Card Sleeves to protect your Kickstarter Exclusive copy of Twisted Cryptids and its expansions! We’re huge proponents of “safety first”, and when snacks, drinks, and unpredictable pets (or children) are involved, you really can’t be too careful.
Each pack of card sleeves includes 56 standard-sized sleeves, 5 tarot-sized sleeves, and 7 small sleeves (for Hidden Trait cards). These are clear sleeves with the Twisted Cryptids flashlight symbol featured on the back in a frosted application to allow them to be flexibly used across multiple card backs in the game.
Here's a reminder one more time of how many sleeve packs you need.
3 packs of sleeves are sufficient to cover the Kickstarter Exclusive Edition of the game (and Mini-Expansions).
1 (additional) pack is needed to cover the Cryptid Culture Expansion.
1 (additional) pack is needed to cover the Yeti or Not Expansion (not included in any tiers).
As a reminder, 4 packs of sleeves are already included in both the Deluxe Bundle and Ultimate Collector’s Set Tiers 💖
1. Yeti or Not Expansion
The most popular add-on is none other than the Yeti or Not Expansion!!! Originally slotted to release in 2026, we heard your feedback during the Kickstarter and made the decision to push development of this Expansion earlier so that it will be ready to ship during Wave 2 with the rest of your Add-ons!
The Kickstarter Exclusive Edition of the Yeti or Not Expansion will feature a Kickstarter Exclusive box with a lenticular cover, an expanded vac tray that accommodates sleeved cards, and upgraded components to match your Twisted Cryptids: Kickstarter Exclusive Edition Game. This Expansion is still in development, but we’ve been making significant progress since the announcement ❄️ Playtesting, art, and development are currently underway and we plan on sharing it with you in future Updates (and Twitch Stream) next year before fulfillment!

New (Discounted) Shipping Option in BackerKit! (WAVE 2 ONLY)

Hello everyone :)
We are nearly a week into the Pledge Management phase, and 68% of backers have completed surveys so far. If you are part of the 32% that has not yet done so, please take this reminder and jump in to get it taken care of ASAP! We will be closing the BackerKit Add-on store on November 20, and we always end up with a handful of backers who miss the window.
If you are part of the 68% (or even if you are in the 32%),I wanted to inform you about an additional option we have opened up based on feedback we've received about shipping rates. I will give a bit more explanation below, but I'll start with the punchline: we've now added an option for you to switch tiers to "Wave 2 ONLY" so that your package ships together (and you can potentially save some money on shipping).
Even if you've already filled out your survey, your card has not yet been charged, and you still have time to log back into BackerKit and change your selections :)
Here's how it works:
You can select to change your pledge tier to the one called "Wave 2 ONLY" - this pledge tier has a cost of $1 (and $0 for shipping until you add items)
If you select this tier, you will find add-on options for each of the tiers listed at $1 lower than the price on the pledge (since the tier already costs $1). Select the tier you want as an add-on
Select any other add-ons you want- your entire shipping charge will be grouped in the add-ons section with no pledge tier shipping cost. All of your items will ship together in Wave 2 (August 2025).
Here are some screenshots to help guide you through the process, because it is not the easiest to find if you've already completed your survey!
The shipping rate for this new option is strictly based on total weight of your package with an added discount layered on top. Since we already had decided to subsidize part of the cost of the add-on shipping due to the high rates, we figured we would apply the same discounted rate for anyone selecting this option (so you'll get to take advantage of that lower rate regardless).
For some backers, this new option actually will not cost less (and there will be no advantage in switching). For others, the difference might be pretty significant. But please note that, if you make this change, you will not receive the game at the same time as backers who keep a wave 1 tier. If your priority is getting the game in your hands as quickly as possible, stick with the original tiers. If you would rather take advantage of some cost savings on shipping, select the new option.
If you do select the new option, please do not forget to also select your tier as an add-on. The $1 tier level does not come with any items, so if you don't select a tier after that, you won't receive the game! We've conveniently added these new tiers to the top of the add-on options if you select the Wave 2 ONLY tier.
I also want to just own the fact that this shipping situation has gone a bit off track, and it is 100% my fault. I also wish we had come up with this idea sooner (and want to say thank you to the members of our community who emailed in this creative solution).
The good news is that, with the new option we opened up, the wave 2 only shipping is listed at an even lower rate than if we had done it as strictly weight-based since we applied an additional discount and are just eating the extra cost on our end :)
